Chris Mondak

Bass instructor Chris Mondak teaches lessons designed for beginning, intermediate, and advanced bass players of all ages. Lessons are available for both electric and upright bass. Group sessions address topics including proper bass technique, rhythm, style, crafting effective bass lines, sight-reading, and bow techniques for upright bass. The role of bass in multiple genres of music is examined. Bass students learn both the fun and the importance of their instrument.

Chris is a 2020 graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he studied with legendary, Grammy-winning jazz bassists Cecil McBee and Dave Holland. Chris has toured extensively, including two multi-week tours in China, performances in Australia, Mexico, and Panama, and shows throughout the United States in venues such as Birdland and Carnegie Hall. Chris composed all seven pieces on his 2022 CD Glass Spheres (Summit Records), which spent several weeks in the top 100 of the national Jazz Week chart. Chris performs regularly in the Nashville area.
